We Serve

Welcome to the website of Lions District 4-C3.  Like all Lions Districts, we are located in a specific geographic area.  Our District comprises Alameda and Contra Costa Counties of California, USA.  Our counties are directly east of San Francisco across the San Francisco Bay.  Our District numbers about 1,011 Lions (members) in 41 clubs.

WHAT A YEAR By District Governor Bill Ridle
I want to start out by Thanking the Lions of District 4-C3. So proud of all of the service generated by our clubs.
We started this year with a plan to focus on service - Hunger. We dedicated our efforts to Food Banks and Food Pantries across the District. Thank you, Lions, for collecting and donating over 100,000 pounds of food-to-Food Banks and Pantries so far this lion year. Over $15,000 to help buy needed supplies and purchase of equipment so these groups can continue to serve our communities. “Lions Made It Happen”

  • Hit by COVID-19: We helped those in China by sending thousands of face masks.

  • Provided personal protection equipment to those that needed it in our communities (many of the most vulnerable) Thousands of face masks were made or purchased and distributed to First Responders and Frontline Hospital workers and Senior centers.

  • Drive through distribution sites setup to hand out PPE

  • Porterville Hospital Project. Super project, thank you Berkeley Lions and Disaster Chair Mike McDowell and all the Lions that supported this project whether it was through donations, goods, services and/or cards. Job well done!!

  • COVID was not the only challenge this year. Again, California was hit hard with wildfires. Thousands of homes were destroyed and 4-C3 stepped up to assist other Districts during their time of need.

Without the ability to have in person meetings, many clubs learned how to meet on Zoom. We had to develop new ways and updating existing ways to disseminate information with constant contact, our District website, Lionizer, emails and yes using the telephone to call on our club members to stay informed and engaged.

Thank you to my Cabinet. All stayed engaged and helped to make this a special year. Time and time again we proved that where there is a need, there is a Lion. We stepped up our Training, membership, and service with the help of the GAT Team (Membership Lion Barbara, Leadership Dr. Mo and Service Lion Ray) as well as Past District Governor Gary Wong and 1st Vice District Governor James.

We will continue to serve our communities every day. Thank you, “LIONS”.

  • Thank you to the clubs for retaining your membership and bringing in new Lions.

  • Thank you, Lion Manil Shrestha, for bringing in Oakland Feed the Need Lions Club

  • Thank you, Lion Barbara Chambers, for her work to transition the Lioness club into the Martinez Lady Lions to be chartered in June.

  • Thank you 2nd VDG Linda Barbara for submitting the application for the new CUB Club

  • I want to give a special thank you to 1st Vice District Governor James Varghese who arranged for our District to get thousands of pounds of fresh food each week for distribution throughout our District. Thank you, James!

HOLD on, THERE IS STILL MORE TO COME!!!
